List of Modifications to the Z

Ok I've received this question quite a bit so I'm listing all the modifications that have been done to the Z. Most all of them were done by the previous owner so I cannot take credit for it. I will eventually list at the end the (measly) mods that I have added/will add.

Ok here they come; brace yourselves.

UPGRADES:
  1. Wilwood 13" 6-piston front big brake kit
  2. Power enterprise 555cc "new style" injectors/connectors
  3. KYB Agx adjustable struts front/rear
  4. Apexi AVC-R electronic boost controller
  5. Nismo rear taillights
  6. Infiniti 17" wheels (deprecated)
  7. Front midori style camber links
  8. Rear Nismo camber arms (deprecated)
  9. Z1 Howe all-alluminum radiator
  10. 12psi HKS adjustable turbo wastegates
  11. Z1 stainless 4-bolt downpipes
  12. Front/rear Stillen adjustable anti-sway bars
  13. Stillen boost hoses
  14. New 3rd brake lights
  15. Stillen POP charger
  16. K&N intake
  17. Z1 Silicone hoses (lower radiator, lower hardpipe, upper radiator, heater core)
  18. ARP wheel studs (1.5mm pitch)
  19. Moroso radiator overflow tank
  20. Nismo transmission mount
  21. SPL stainless steel brake lines - rear
  22. Downpipe heat guards
  23. Boost hose t-bolt clamps
  24. Gorilla lugnuts with security keys
  25. All main bushings replaced with Energy suspension (rear subframe, rear control arms, tension rods, front control arms, differential, steering rack)

REPAIRS / REPLACEMENTS:
  1. JDM Engine with new oil pan and oil pickup tube
  2. New stock Garrett turbo CHRA's
  3. New timing belt, pulleys, crank gear, water pump, thermostat, studs, nuts
  4. CZP rebuilt steering rack/rods
  5. New CAS (cam) angle sensor
  6. New motor mounts
  7. All fuel lines replaced
  8. New power steering high pressure hose
  9. New knock sensor & harness
  10. All plenum water lines replaced
  11. New turbo oil and water lines
  12. All new fuel lines and clamps
  13. New driveshaft carrier bearing
  14. New heater core
  15. New HICAS ball joints
  16. New fuel pressure regulator
  17. Fuel rail removal
  18. New fuel dampener
  19. New nissan battery cable
  20. New spark plugs
  21. New suction side power steering hoses
  22. New antenna mast
  23. Shifter bushing replacement
  24. New brake booster hose
  25. New fuel filter
...and that's it. Phew!

RECENT REPLACEMENTS / UPGRADES

  1. 18" Wedssport SA-67R lightweight wheels
  2. Bridgestone Potenza S04: 235/40/18 front, 275/35/18 rear
  3. New oil pressure sensor
  4. New throttle position sensor
  5. New rear upper-rear adjustable control arms
  6. New paint and dent removal
  7. New carbon fiber hood (painted in the car's color)

I finally got a hold of my new trim kit for the Z interior, gray Alcantara with 13 pieces that cover all places that came with some suede-like fabric originally. I also ordered new leather covers for the seats (which are leather all-around, inlike the original covers with are real leather on the front and synthetic on the backs). Ordered from interior-innovations.com, for about $750 with shipping. Let's quickly remember the status of the seats and trim: Yeah, they needed replacement. So this is the 13-piece kit, more or less. Project 300ZX [5] - Shift knob / e-brake handle

As you could see in the initial pictures I took of the car, the shift knob, e-brake handle and their boots were in a terrible condition. There's no way you can repair that, so replacement was the only option. The shift knob had some nasty scratches and its cover was missing (I think it originally came wrapped in leather but  now it was only the soft-plastic inner knob). The boot is synthetic leather and it was peeled everywhere. Those scratches on the knob come from a previous removal I think. The knob screws to the shaft, but to keep it in place, Nissan originally glues it with some blue Loctite. I've read that it's pretty hard to take it off; you need to wrap the knob in towels and then apply as much force as you can to break the glue with a pipe wrench or something. I assume this damage came from that process. I'm glad someone else did that ugly job for me, because I was able to simply unscrew the knob with my bare hands. I'm not sure why they did it and

RaspHousy part 1

RaspHousy: house automation Part 1 There's some talk nowadays about the "connected home" or "smart home". I've seen some offerings in the local hardware store that attempt to improve upon tradicional HVAC (heating, ventilation & A/C) controls by learning your habits, or being able to connect to the internet. Same thing for sprinkler control but apparently much less advancement in that front. I've been attracted to the idea of a smarter way to monitor and control those things, but those offerings in the market are too limited and most of the time they're quite pricey.
